Rebecca
14 07 2007For those that don’t know, my 16 year old daughter suffers from a condition called POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome). Basically, what it means is that she’s got an abnormally fast heart rate. Then, at times, without warning, her autonomic nervous system realizes there’s a problem and tries to correct it by slowing her pulse down to less than 50 beats a minute. this results in not enough blood getting to the brain, and ends up in a syncopic episode.
Well, we had another spell last night. I was feeling good just getting off of work going into my vacation. I walked in the door, Rebecca didn’t look too good. She didn’t say anything, but I was just uncomfortable with the way she looked. We decided to go out to dinner. Just as we were getting in the car, she passed out again. We brought her to the ER again. they put two bags of fluid into her, and let her come home. She’s resting today. I’ve got a headache today.
Probably won’t work out today. I may go out later. I’m doing tons of nervous eating today. Not good
BTW, my wife just left this morning for two weeks away, so…
I’m sorry to hear about your daughter’s condition. It’s really tough to be on top of the world and then smacked right down. Know that I’m hoping for your daughter to feel better and your nerves to ease. Don’t push yourself to work out - if you think it will make you feel better, do it. If not, you have enough going on. Be easy on yourself when outside forces aren’t so much.
Your family will be in my prayers.
Phil
