Today was a nice break from the heat. Mid 70’s all day today, as compared to mid 90’s over the weekend. I could have worn a sweat shirt on my morning ride into work today. Nice brisk run this evening. Not many folks out on the trail, tho.

I realized one reason I run on trails and avoid neighborhoods. People cooking dinner. All of the different cooking smells that become evident in the late afternoon. We live in a very multicultural neighborhood, and one minute, you’re smelling a wonderful curry smell, the next minute, you’re smelling hamburger helper, and the next minute, you smell something that smells like poo.

‘Nuff said.

Hot and Humid today.  I went out at 6:30.  Still around 85-90 degrees with a heat index about 100.  Not really a good idea to run when heat index is that high, but, I brought plenty of water, and a gel pack, just in case.  Slow run with several walk breaks, but I feel great after the run!

Tomorrow, I’ll be outside all day.  My daughter has a horse show that I’ll be watching.  She’s participating in the Western, English, and the “egg and spoon” competitions.  I’ll probably get my work out in tomorrow evening again.

The new office.

5 07 2007

Well, the new office will take some getting used to.  They have all of us shoved into a space 1/2 the size of what is really acceptable.  We’ll deal with it, but, there is no ventilation to speak of, and the carpeting is new, so we are enjoying the wonderful “new carpet” smell.  I left work with a terrible headache today.  I rode my bike home in the sun.  that seemed to make my headache worse (of course it did).

I popped a couple analgesics, and decided, against my body telling me not to, to go out and get a run in.  I got out about 1 1/2 miles, and my stomach said “Go Home…NOW!”. OK.  I listened to it.  Glad I did.  I just made in the door when my body decided to protest it’s mistreatment. :)

We’ll try the run again tomorrow.  I’ll make sure I take plenty of breaks at work tomorrow to get out of the work area to get fresh air!
